About

Small on purpose. Toronto, since 1990.

History

We spent years in accounting and finance at large firms before founding Matrix Meridian. From both sides of the table we kept seeing the same gap: organizations that understood their business but not the technology it increasingly ran on, and, vice versa, technical specialists who did not understand the business. In 1990 we set up a one-person firm to occupy that gap.

The engagements got bigger and the firm grew to match, hiring in the expertise it needed and partnering with good practitioners in neighbouring fields, until the solo practice was a multi-disciplinary firm.

More than three decades on, Matrix Meridian is a boutique consultancy in Toronto. Technology is the core of the practice: managed IT, hosting and migrations, custom software, and applied AI, with the strategy and people work running alongside. Clients come from retail, financial services, non-profits, and education.

Daniel Ho, Managing Director (Extension 256)

Managing Director (Extension 256)

Daniel Ho

Daniel runs the firm and leads the Strategy and Operations and IT Advisory practice groups. He came to it through decades in finance, management consulting, and information technology.

In his spare time, Daniel serves on the board of several local charities. He enjoys long-distance cycling and spending time in the outdoors with family & friends…that's when he's not relaxing by geeking out on one of his arcane interests.

Although he eats mostly a healthy diet, Daniel's kryptonite is fried chicken!

Senior Associate (extension 246)

Andrew Lui

Andrew's career spans academia, business, politics, and government. Trained in International Relations, he puts a working knowledge of global trends to use helping companies enter foreign markets and build growth strategies for them. Andrew is a senior member of the Strategy and Operations practice group.

Due to the number of Andrews orbiting the office, we call him Dr. Andrew to distinguish him from Designer Andrew, Lawyer Andrew, Cousin Andrew, and Engineer Andrew.

Sarah Lefave, Director of People and Change (extension 258)

Director of People and Change (extension 258)

Sarah Lefave

Sarah leads the firm's People and Change practice. She came from an academic background and years of executing people strategy inside corporations, and she connects what the business needs with what its people need.

Sarah is curious about everything. When she's not designing people programs, you will find her hanging out with her kids, trail running, reading 3-10 books at a time, and writing on social change and activism.

Due to her love for the Wiggles, Sarah has had to suspend her Ph.D. candidacy temporarily.

Kelly Boer, Operations Manager (extension 221)

Operations Manager (extension 221)

Kelly Boer

Kelly came out of medical sciences, which shows in how fast she reads a situation and how little she misses. She runs the machinations of the firm, from being the fixer for our staff to managing client accounts.

Kelly has no quirks that she'd admit...

Newton, Director of First Impressions (He doesn't need no stinkin' extension!)

Director of First Impressions (He doesn't need no stinkin' extension!)

Newton

Newton was born and raised in South Arkansas. When he relocated to Toronto, he joined the office team where he has excelled and quickly moved through the ranks. Newton enjoys rushing out to greet our guests and helping with snacks...especially the snacks!

Despite his loud bark, Newton has no bite!
